This year's event is being held to raise funds to help restore the Texas State Bison Herd to their historic range at Caprock Canyons State Park and allow park visitors the chance to celebrate the cultural and natural history of the Texas Panhandle. Caprock Canyons State Park is a 15,000 acre park with the potential to support a wide diversity of plant and animal communities. The park is home to the Official Bison Herd of the state of Texas, the last remaining example of the Great Southern herd of bison.
