The Hotel Turkey is a historic hotel located in Turkey, Texas, United States that originally opened in 1927. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 24, 1991. The two-story reddish-brown brick prairie school designed structure was built by H. B. Jordan to take advantage of the extension of the Fort Worth and Denver South Plains Railway to the town of Turkey. On June 12, 1927 the building was partially complete when a tornado leveled it. Construction resumed shortly thereafter, and Hotel Turkey opened for business in November 1927.
The restaurant is open for breakfast every day, for lunch Thursday -Sunday and for Dinner on Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights. They serve Pizza & Wings on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-8pm. They have a unique old-time atmosphere that is laid back and welcoming.
Howdy and welcome to our one of a kind Espresso and Tea Bar. The Night Owl is located inside the Ghost Horse Gallery making it a perfect place to meet with friends, get a great drink, and enjoy the fine art. When you first step into the Ghost Horse Gallery / Night Owl Espresso & Tea Bar you feel like you have transported into a simpler place in time that is a little bit Santa Fe and a little bit "Lonesome Dove". The smell of oatmeal pecan chocolate chip cookies baking and fresh ground coffee wrap around you and draw you on in.
A "Howdy" from Silverton's one and only Blind Barista and owner, Rowdy, will welcome you and make you feel right at home. Before heading to the owl barn for a visit with Annie (Eurasian Eagle Owl) and Oakley (Great Horned Owl), you can place your order for a hot or iced espresso drink, iced tea, smoothie, frappé or homemade dessert. We hope you have time to just sit a minute, relax and enjoy the unique sculptures created in many different mediums by local artist, Tammy Lynne Penn. We like to think of our place as a little golden nugget nestled in the rouch backdrop of the Caprock Canyons.
